This summer, Project Green Foot is thrilled to partner with Southern Exposure Seed Exchange to launch a powerful new educational series as a fundraiser for our organization! These series are designed to help you grow more food, save seed, and reconnect with the land.
Rooted in our mission to protect biodiversity, promote food sovereignty, and restore ecological balance, this series brings together expert voices, ancestral wisdom, and hands-on seasonal guidance to help both new and experienced growers thrive.
Each session offers practical skills and regenerative growing practices aligned with the seasons, empowering you to plant with purpose, harvest with confidence, and steward your garden (and the planet) more intentionally. Our series will be guided by one of Southeast’s most respected voices in organic gardening: Ira Wallace.
Ira Wallace is a seed saver, writer, and co-founder of the Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello. She lives and gardens at Acorn Community Farm in Virginia, home of Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. Ira is also a board member of the Organic Seed Alliance and a frequent speaker at the Mother Earth News Fairs and garden conferences nationwide. Her work is deeply rooted in sustainability, education, and equitable access to healthy food and seed systems.
