La Movida Verde
La Movida Verde has projects in Guayaquil, Quito, and Cuenca. The offering is an organic waste collection service that works through a subscription in which families choose a plan and they pay for the removal of their organic waste that is transformed into compost and returned to the families and companies that are working with them! In addition to this they donate vegetable plants that are generated thanks to the same compost from their waste.
La Movida Verde also work with other companies and organizations like Penipe Basura Cero to find a solution for their organic waste materials. All this is transformed into compost that is used in multiple ways for example soil regeneration, gardening, education and so much more!
Penipe Basura Cero
Penipe Basura Cero is a pilot project promoted in the Penipe canton (Chimborazo), the result of the collaboration between the GADM Penipe, the Zero Ecuador Garbage Alliance and allied technical organizations.
The project is part of the program "Methane and Climate Change - Zero Waste Territories", and combines technical advice, institutional strengthening and environmental education processes with a focus on the reduction of organic waste and the promotion of the circular economy.

Project Green Foot - Empowering Communities
In the Andes of Ecuador, Project Green Foot is building a bridge between communities in the United States and Ecuador through a shared commitment to the land, to one another, and to the future. Rather than bringing a solution from outside, PGF believes in supporting solutions that are already emerging from within communities such as Penipe.
Our work in the Andes also creates an opportunity to reconnect with forms of ecological knowledge that have been practiced by generations of people who understand the land not simply as a resource, but as something worthy of relationship and respect.
At our partner space in Penipe, visitors are welcomed into an environment centered around community, traditional plant knowledge, Temazcal, and the exploration of sustainable ways of living connected to ancestral practices.
For those who feel called to deepen their understanding of plants, traditional ecological knowledge, or community-centered approaches to healing and sustainability, there is an invitation to learn, listen, and participate respectfully.

Join Us for Our Next In Person Class! Sep. 27th
Join us for a creative workshop exploring our relationship with plants through forest bathing, mindfulness, writing, and storytelling. In this session, participants will connect with Mugwort through a grounding nature walk, guided creative writing, storytelling around the campfire, and conversations exploring the plant’s folklore, history, and science. Attendees will also have the opportunity to make herbal tea and smudge sticks while deepening their connection to the natural world and the stories plants have to share.
